UMCMA Summer Institute 2019

The Summer Institute is a United Methodist Collegiate Ministry Conference that seeks to carry out UMCMA's mission of Support, Advocate, Connect, and Equip. We intentionally plan times of worship, learning, conversations, and fellowship. Our hope is that it will be a time of training and development that aims to sharpen veteran collegiate ministers and invite those within the first five years in a collegiate ministry to learn the basics, create an environment where mentoring and relationships happen, and seek to unite and strengthen all of United Methodist Collegiate Ministry. Summer Institute will begin at noon on Tuesday and end at noon on Friday.

Lodging options include:

On campus lodging -

On campus housing will be in the Nelson Hall apartments, with each apt hosting 3 rooms - 2 doubles and 1 single. The double room has two twin beds and the single room has one twin bed. Each apartment will share a common living space and a bathroom. The on-campus housing is based on a 3-night stay and includes breakfast. Off campus lodging -

* AirBnb - there are options available with AirBnb. Individual is responsible for securing this option.

* For those choosing to stay off campus, you may purchase breakfast in the Nelson Hall Dining Facility for $9.25/day. Cash is required at checkout.

Airport Transportation - you will be responsible for your transportation to and from the Denver Airport. Here are a few options to consider:

We will be featuring a conversation with Lady Justice Brewing Co. Lady Justice Brewing Company brews and sells beer. All profits over cost are donated through a grant-making process to Colorado-based community organizations that promote the status and opportunity of women and girls.

Leadership Training Retreat with GBHEM

Immediately following Summer Institute, the folks at GBHEM will be hosting a Leadership Training Retreat highlighted by their new The Awakened Life Curriculum. GBHEM is offering this training retreat FREE to you – registration, food, and lodging during the training will be covered - your only responsibility will be travel. However, since it will follow on the heels of the Summer Institute, that should help in your planning! The dates of the Denver retreat are July 19-21, 2019.
